10. The Scythe

“Sometimes something catastrophic can occur in a split second that changes a person's life forever; other times one minor incident can lead to another and then another and another, eventually setting off just as big a change in a body's life.”

The Scythe Card Meaning

When the Scythe strikes its target, there is no denying that the object on the receiving end is forever changed. Due to its swift and divisive nature, the Scythe can be a startling card to draw and that is indeed a part of its meaning; the swing of the Scythe can result in an accident or pain. But sometimes the Scythe’s message is to cut off what is no longer needed. No matter the situation, the Scythe can be one of the most telling and helpful cards you see in a reading. If you begin your reading by asking only for information in the querent’s best and highest good, it can assist you in preventing an unfortunate event or assist in embracing a needed change.

Please note that the ORDER of the cards matters in Lenormand but it especially matters when it comes to the Scythe card.
